When someone sends you a message on your TextApp number (WiFi or Sim), you will receive a notification like “You have one new message”.

You'll need your cellular data to be turned on, but WiFi works too. So if you're not on wi-fi and cellular data is off, your TextApp won't run and you won't get a notification when you receive a new message.
